TWO of the Sunshine Coast’s most dedicated koala crusaders are in desperate need of community support to keep their vital volunteer efforts alive.
Murray and Ray Chambers, of Sunshine Coast Koala Wildlife Rescue, are hoping to raise almost $40,000 to secure a new car to continue saving injured koalas.
Caloundra MP Mark McArdle has called on the community for their support. “Murray and Ray are on call 24/7 to help these endangered koalas and use their own resources,” Mr McArdle said.
Murray Chambers said since SCKWR started in 2008, he and his brother have helped save almost 200 koalas.
“To raise $40,000 would be amazing. It would go a long way towards helping future generations,” Mr Chambers said.
